GRADUATION DINNER UPDATE III

Dear parents,

A heartfelt thank-you to those who attended our meeting this week. There’s a great willingness to get involved amongst parent group this year.

Allow me now to update you on the major decisions made at the last meeting.

1.     To decorate the graduation dinner spaces with a vintage/spring carnival theme. Julie Collet is able to provide much of the décor, but if you have ideas or access to items that could be used, please send me an email or speak to me in person.
2.     For dinner, a tapas-style selection of fun, 12/13yr old friendly food will be served as the main course. David Rawlings is working on a menu. Entrée style foods will be served in the parent and teacher mingle that precedes the dinner.

If you would like a more comprehensive update, please take the time to come speak with me.

HELP!

Many parents have already indicated that they will be involved on the night, but I am looking to make a comprehensive list of who will be available to help on the night. Being able to help on the night does not mean that you need to attend meetings or be actively involved prior. It simply means you can lend a hand with whatever needs doing on the night – waiting, washing dishes, pouring drinks, etc.

If all parents could return their details on the slip below, that would be of great assistance.

God bless,

Dan Hamilton.

Geography of Ancient China

TASK: Geography of Ancient China

Create a PowerPoint Presentation of 2-3 slides to answer the following questions:

1)   What were the key geographical features of China that helped make Ancient China safe from foreign armies. Name at least three features, and give some information about them.

2)   What are China’s two main rivers? Give some information about them and explain why they were important for early Chinese civilisations.

3)   How did the features you described in Questions 1 and 2 both hurt and help the Ancient Chinese people.

EDEN: Hi! How are you? That's great/sad (choose the applicable answer). Okay here's what you can do.

Create a PowerPoint Presentation of 2-3 slides to answer the following questions:

1) What are China’s two main rivers? Give some information about them and explain why they were important for early Chinese civilisations.

2) Describe the differences between China's northern and southern regions. Postulate a reason why more people may have lived in the North than South in the early period of Chinese civilisation, despite the southern parts of China having more fertile conditions for agriculture.
